A journey into Somatic Dance: deepen your connection to yourself, embody the practice, and become a facilitator.
“Helping others do mad things with their bodies.”— The Metro
Somatic dance is a deeply felt practice of listening to your body's intelligence. moving from sensation, emotion, and inner awareness rather than the mind's agenda. As a facilitator, you learn to hold a space where breath, sound and movement weave together naturally.
Each session follows a deliberate arc. You open with pranayama. breath sequences that shift the nervous system out of fight-or-flight and begin to activate the vagus nerve, creating the physiological conditions for safety and release. From there, sound enters: voice, music, or resonance work that loosens the body before movement begins. Intuitive somatic dance follows, guided by the chakra framework so the work has energetic direction rather than wandering.
Woven throughout are personal development prompts. reflective questions that bring conscious awareness to what is moving in the body, so that what arises doesn't stay unconscious. As a facilitator you learn to read the room: to see where someone is holding, where they are contracting, and how to guide them gently through the layer rather than around it. The structure holds the space so that what happens within it can be genuinely free.
This training takes you through that journey yourself first, then teaches you how to hold it for individuals and groups. The work moves through three levels: Personal Practice. 1:1 Facilitation. Group & Advanced Work.
Moving from sensation rather than choreography, allowing the body's natural intelligence to guide, release and reconnect. Supports emotional expression and nervous system regulation.
Each energy centre holds both its empowering qualities and suppressed emotions. Through intuitive movement and felt sensation, we gently access, express, and integrate these layers.
Breath sequences become a bridge between sensation and expression. Weaving pranayama and sound into movement adds depth and embodiment, guiding the rhythm of the dance from within.
Simple rituals and grounding meditations create arrival, intention, and safety. The dance that follows unfolds with greater awareness, depth, and meaning.
Intentional techniques including shaking, tapping and vocal release. gentle, grounded tools for processing what arises in the body when held emotions begin to move.
Reflective questions and expressive writing make meaning of what arises. By bringing awareness into words, experience becomes more conscious and genuinely transformative.

Described as “mesmerising, hypnotic even” by the London Evening Standard and featured in The Guardian, The Metro and Doyouyoga, Pip is a Nervous System Coach and former founder of AcroYogaDance, one of London's most celebrated movement studios.
With 25 years in dance and embodiment. including work alongside renowned choreographer Siobhan Davies. She stands at the intersection of art, healing, and the nervous system. She has spent her career doing what very few people can: helping others feel, move, and release what words alone cannot reach.
Over time, her path deepened into yoga, energy work and somatic healing. She trained under some of the most respected teachers in embodied practice and eventually wove everything into Somatic Dance Academy. A methodology that layers meditation, pranayama, sound, personal development and somatic dance into a journey that genuinely transforms people.
People come to her sessions and workshops feeling disconnected, stuck in their heads or unsure of how to inhabit themselves. They leave feeling alive, open and seen. That is what this training teaches you to create for others.
This certification carries everything Pip has learned across 25 years of professional practice. She will meet you exactly where you are and take you somewhere you have never been.
Weekly sessions of somatics and women's circle, open to all students across Levels 1 and 2. A living space for personal practice, integration and community, held every Sunday by Pip.
